The Centru Regional Development Agency is one of the members of the Network of the Three Seas Regions.
The Centru Regional Development Agency has the role of contributing to the sustainable and equitable development of the Center Region by removing the disparities and imbalances between the areas of the region, for the benefit of its inhabitants. Established by Law 151/1998, the Centru Regional Development Agency operates under Law 315/2004 on regional development in Romania.
The purpose of the Centru Regional Development Agency is to put into practice the plans and strategies designed in partnership, to contribute and effectively use financial and human resources in assisting the communities of the Center Region, as well as to attract new resources.
Through ADR Centru, local and county authorities, non-governmental organizations and entrepreneurs in the Region have access to European funds run through the PHARE programs and through the Regional Operational Program. Also through ADR Centru, the communities in the Region will have access to the European Fund for Regional Development, for the financing of investments in the productive sector, infrastructure, education, health, local development and small and medium enterprises.
The activity of the Agency for Regional Development is coordinated by the Centru Regional Development Council, which brings together the presidents of the county councils and representatives of the municipalities, cities and communes from each of the six counties that make up the Center Region, respectively Alba, Brasov, Covasna, Harghita, Mures and Sibiu .
The main activities of ADR Centru are focused on the attributes conferred on it by legislation:
1. Elaboration and updating of the Regional Development Plan (PDR) as well as operational and sectoral plans and programs at the level of the region;
2. Management, as the implementing authority, of the Funds allocated to the Region from the European Union Funds, from the national budget or from other funding sources;
3. Monitoring of implemented projects;
4. Promotion of the region and the activities arising from regional development policies;
5. Providing technical assistance to investors in Disadvantaged Areas, as well as monitoring the activity of economic agents that benefit from the facilities.
6. Development of national, inter-regional and international partnerships.
