This document reflects thorough preparation and signifies a commitment to continued collaboration between the Lubelskie and Podkarpackie Voivodeships, as well as Prešov Region from Slovakia. The declaration aims to strengthen ties between Central European countries and regions and to create a coherent transport, energy and digital network that promotes sustainable development and integration in the region.
At the initiative of the Prešov Region and within the Network of the 3Seas Regions, a Declaration on Partnership and Cooperation of the Members of the Network of the Three Seas Regions for supporting the preparation and construction of the international transport corridor Via Carpatia was signed in Brussels on 11 December 2024. During the Congress on 12 March 2025, signatures of support were submitted by the other regions of the Network.
The main objective is to support the planning and construction of the missing sections of the Via Carpatia international transport corridor in Poland and Slovakia. The declaration also aims to promote dialogue and lobbying efforts with the governments of both countries, as well as with European Union institutions, in order to accelerate the necessary decisions for the corridor’s full implementation.
The Lubelskie Voivodeship, as the initiator of the Network of the 3Seas Regions, has been consistently striving to build a stable partnership of regions spanning the area between the Baltic Sea, the Adriatic Sea and the Black Sea since 2021. The signing of the declaration is therefore a natural step in realising these goals and building an integrated and strong Central and Eastern Europe, in which citizens, businesses and public institutions will be able to take full advantage of the new opportunities brought by the development of transport infrastructure.
